The Fog of Amber Street
Episode 2: Locked Doors
Alarmed by the temporal stasis, Julian rushed back out to the street to seek help or find anyone who had escaped the anomaly, but Amber Street was entirely deserted. He tried the doors of the neighboring townhouses, but every entrance was locked tight from the inside, deadbolted against the amber mist that swirled through the empty air like a living river. When he stepped off the stone pavement onto the road, his boots made no sound against the cobblestones, as if the physical environment had lost its density and converted into a silent, stage-set illusion.
Amber Glow
The luminous amber fog condensed around him, forming intricate, geometric patterns in the air that hovered at eye level before dissolving into golden mist. From within the glowing haze, the faint sound of a ticking grandfather clock echoed from every direction simultaneously, growing louder and more insistent with every step he took. Julian walked toward the center of the street, where an old iron streetlamp stood casting its warm, amber beam downward into the fog, illuminating a small circle of empty cobblestones that remained completely clear of mist.
